I really enjoyed printmaking. This all started with my previous project: logo design. Once I created my logo, I thought it would be unique to see a print of it.
This is my linoleum block that I had to carve on in order to create a print. I learned that it is really important to carve deep enough, so that when you print the ink, it doesn't get on that pacific part that you have carved away. Also, I had to keep in mind that whatever I did carve, that that was going to be white when I print. |
When I got finished with my carving, then I got a metal try, printmaking ink, and a brayer which is a roller. Then I took the brayer and went over my linoleum block and pressed it down on paper. The photo to the right shows the materials that I used.
These couple of prints show that I did not use enough paint. For the next prints, I made improvements.
These are my final prints. I was extremely happy with how they turned out. My favorite thing about this project was how you can see the black and yellow paint in each print. Also, I like how the fine details show up well.
